GARMCO Conducts its First Safety Perception Survey Campaign
Let’s Make Safety a Habit
In line with its commitment towards health, safety and environment requirements, GARMCO, the Bahrain-based international aluminum rolling mill and one of the largest downstream aluminum facilities in the Middle East, conducted a Safety Perception Survey campaign titled ‘Let’s Make Safety a Habit’. The campaign took place from 18 September through 26 September 2016 involving more than 500 employees from production, engineering and administration units.
The campaign was organized by the Health, Safety & Environment Committee (HSE) to enhance the HSE awareness at GARMCO. The campaign surveyed the company’s employees via an anonymous form, enabling management to identify safety program strengths and weaknesses to be addressed.
Mr. Jean-Baptiste Lucas, CEO of GARMCO commented, “This campaign is among the many activities we have planned to fulfill the company’s commitment towards Health and Safety, in order to create a safer working environment at GARMCO.”
“The purpose of the campaign was to gather feedback from the employees in order to gain a clearer understanding of actual working environment and employees’ perceptions and conditions. Based on these results, we will design relevant risks mitigation plans.” he further added.
The survey aims to enhance HSE performance at GARMCO through identifying and implementing areas of improvements, increase employee engagement and involvement, increasing a safety concern culture, and analyzing and developing safety systems.
