Bahrain-based Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Company (GARMCO), one of the largest downstream aluminium facilities in the Middle East, brought together its representatives of all subsidiaries which span five continents – Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. GARMCO’s sales and service centres are located in Australia, China, Europe, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and the USA. The 1st Subsidiaries Meeting took place at the Group’s headquarters situated in Bahrain from October 13 to October 16, 2014.The 4 days interactive sessions between the members of the global team were organized as an integral part of change management, team building and performance review. The Group’s new strategy was shared amongst all members and the Group’s 2015 budget was finalised.
Commenting on this initiative, Ms. Hind Al-Sabbagh, Head of Corporate Communications of GARMCO, said: “GARMCO’s subsidiaries serve over 2,000 customers in more than 45 countries and the Group is undergoing a great deal of change as part of its new strategy and corporate re-structure. In such an environment, face-to-face communication is essential. “
On the social side, the representatives explored some of Bahrain’s traditional way of life by strolling through the Old Town of Muharraq and the Souq (traditional market) followed by a traditional meal of Bahraini specialties at Saffron restaurant.
“The meeting helped chart a new path in GARMCO’s team building, decision-making and profitable growth process and will be an event that will be held annually.” added Ms. Al-Sabbagh.
