GARMCO, the Bahrain-based international aluminum rolling mill and one of the largest downstream aluminum facilities in the Middle East, announced the appointment of a new General Manager of Operations, Senior Project Manager of the Remelt Expansion Project and Senior Manager, Human Resources and Administration.
Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Jean-Baptiste Lucas, CEO of GARMCO said, “We are proud to have appointed top qualified Bahrainis in senior roles. The appointments are in line with the company’s turn-around strategy and aims to help drive the growth of GARMCO.”
“Growth and profit increase takes place when the people understand the value of the company, and the best way to lead the organization forward was to appoint experiences candidates who have a strong track record,” he said adding that, “Our strategy this year is to focus on the new Remlet, operational excellence and investing in human capital development.”
Mr. Mohammed Essa has been appointed as the General Manager, Operations, with over 30 years of work experience in the company. He joined GARMCO back in August 1985 as a Material Tester in laboratory and was promoted to Quality Control Engineer in 1988, Works Metallurgist in 2001, Customer Relations Manager in 2006 and Senior Manager-Technical in 2008.
Mr. Fahad Albasam has been appointed as Senior Manager, Human Resources and Administration. He joined the company in 2014 as Manager, Human Resources handling only the HR and training, with new role he will handle all the Admin activity.
Mr. Ali A.Mohsen has been appointed as Senior Project Manager of the Remelt Expansion Project. He joined GARMCO back in June 1997 as a Material Tester in laboratory then he was promoted to Quality Control Engineer in 2004 and then as Cold Rolling Manager in 2012. In his new position, Ali will be looking after the New Remelt Expansion Project from all the aspects and he is representing the company in front the main EPC contractor.
