Oliver Schwarzhaupt is a seasoned banking professional with over 30 years of experience in risk management, compliance, and executive leadership across multiple international financial institutions, currently serving as Deputy Group CEO Risk & Compliance at Ahli United Bank, Bahrain.
Oliver’s extensive background spans across leadership roles in Germany, Qatar, Vietnam, and the UAE, where he has held pivotal positions such as Group Chief Risk Officer and Group Head of Risk. His expertise encompasses credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk management, as well as regulatory compliance and strategic risk initiatives. Oliver has also contributed to the establishment and governance of digital banking platforms, notably setting up Vietnam’s first digital-only bank.
Oliver Schwarzhaupt has served in several board member roles, including as Chairman of the Board at PG Bank (Vietnam), Member of the Board of Directors at PG Bank (Vietnam), Director of QCL Qatar Capital (UAE), and Advisor to the Board Audit and Risk Committee at TN Bank (Gibraltar). He holds a master’s degree in economics from Justus-Liebig University in Giessen, Germany, with a focus on Finance, Capital Markets, Statistics, and Econometrics. His strategic insights and leadership continue to shape risk management practices and regulatory adherence across the industry.
